West Virginia Board of Acupuncture
About the Acupuncture Board

The Acupuncture Board was established in 1996 pursuant to HB 1039 "The Acupuncture Act".

The primary purpose of this Board is to protect the West Virginia consumer through the licensure and regulation of acupuncturists. The Board reviews the credentials of all applicants and strives to ensure that only qualified individuals are permitted to practice acupuncture and oriental medicine in West Virginia. The Board is a place where the public can call with inquires about licensed individuals and a place to file a complaint against practitioners that they feel may be in possible violation of the law.

The Board will assist those individuals wishing to apply for licensure in West Virginia. Applications are available to print from this web site. Also, answers to questions regarding the Acupuncture Law, the Boards rules and regulations, or continuing education requirements may be found here as well.
